Convective Sensors

These sensors are designed to quantify convective heat transfer between fluids (gas or liquid) and solids.

They are often used to quantify the effectiveness of heat transfer in an oven or autoclave, and characterize thermal changes in underlying material. After calibration, for example it is possible to estimate a reproducible, systematic, real-time temperature of the heart of a composite.

In the case of quasi-isothermal transformations, the active version of these sensors can detect thermal transitions due to the effusivity of a resin impregnating a substrate for example.

Applications:

Cure monitoring and detection of resin front through the membranes and caul-plates.
